NEALT President’s report of the period ending on May 23, 2017

The Northern European Association for Language Technology (NEALT) was founded in Gothenburg on October 28, 2006, and had its first business meeting at the NODALIDA-2007.

NEALT is registered as a Swedish association with a Swedish bank account. The University of Oslo maintaines the official NEALT web site for the association and a registry of members of the association. You can sign up as a member of NEALT via the website. Researchers who are engaged with language technology industry are requested to encourage these contacts to serve as supporting members of NEALT. Supporting members primarily sponsor students� participation via student grants. For administration and special interest groups, there is a Wiki Page which can be used as a work space for involved partners

1. Election of a chairperson of the meeting.
2. Election of the secretary of the meeting.
3. Election of two members to check the minutes of the meeting.
4. Establish if the meeting has been properly convened,
5. Presentation of candidates for the new NEALT Board (including the President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Editor in Chief and other positions) as needed and on the basis of the nominations for the years 2018 - 2019 by the Nominating Committee and_Regular Members_.
6. Presentation of the President’s Report,
7. Presentation of the Treasurer’s Annual Financial Report and Membership Report 2016,
8. Presentation of the accounts Auditor’s report 2015-2016,
9. Adoption of the reports and accounts,
10. Establishing the annual Membership Dues for the following two years for each type of Member: Supporting Members and Regular Members of two types, Normal Members and Student Members.
11. Election of the members of the Executive Committee of the Association.
12. Election of one accounts Auditor and one Deputy Auditor.
13. Announcement of the next meeting venue.
14. Any other business which has been proposed to nealt-ec before the meeting.

NEALT executives for the years 2016 - 2017

The Business Meeting of the NEALT will be held in conjunction with the NODALIDA-2017 conference in Gothenburg. According to the Constitution of the NEALT, The Business Meeting elects, among other things, the members of the Executive Committee (EC) for the next two-year term which in this case starts on January 1, 2018.
